Training and Peer Support Co-ordinator – 12 month contract.
Extension possible subject to further annual funding being secured. The position has currently been funded annually for over 5yrs.
35hrs per week £23,000 pa

Glasgow North East Carers Centre, as part of the Glasgow City Carers Partnership, provides practical and emotional supports to unpaid family Carers, who look after a family member or friend who cannot manage alone due to illness or disability.

In addition to a wide range of supports and services, we provide training and peer support opportunities which allow Carers to maintain their own health and wellbeing. We are currently recruiting for a Coordinator who will be responsible for facilitating in house Peer Support Groups, and sourcing and organising external training opportunities and providers.

Our Training and Peer Support Co-ordinator will demonstrate:

• great teamwork skills when working alongside our Family Support Workers to determine training needs
• extensive organisational skills and attention to detail when sourcing training opportunities and providers
• strong interpersonal skills when representing and promoting our organisation and it’s work
• the ability to show empathy and understanding when dealing with our service users
• attention to detail when contributing to monitoring and reporting responsibilities

Family Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for Family Support Workers who will work with Carers and wider family members to prepare Carer Support Plans and Young Carer Statements,

These will focus on personal outcomes and changes which are important to Carers in their lives, helping them to maintain a life outside of their caring role, and their own health and wellbeing. This will include signposting to and securing services from, a range of differing organisations.

Our Family Support Workers will demonstrate:

• great teamwork skills when working alongside other team members
• extensive organisational skills and attention to detail when completing formal paperwork
• strong interpersonal skills when representing and promoting our organisation and it’s work
• the ability to show empathy and understanding when dealing with our service users
• attention to detail when contributing to monitoring and reporting responsibilities

• All successful candidates will have relevant experience and knowledge of Carers/Young Carers and the issues they may face, good interpersonal skills and excellent administrative abilities.
